The real and made-up history are so interwoven in this movie--and the made-up stuff often inspired by real stuff, so even if you do know history this show will throw curveballs at you as you think "Oh yes, I remember learning something about that," and then find out they totally fictionalized it. Every time I watch, I end up having to look up just how accurately some little piece or another was portrayed, because they do such a good job of making it all sound so right.
