  At <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UKQ3pB2vCSY&amp;t=2046">34:06</a> - Everyone seems to be confused by the insects and such. &nbsp;It’s actually far more frightening when you understand what’s happening in that scene and why. &nbsp;The Nazgûl is an abomination, a thing of undeath that should not be; it’s an affront to life. &nbsp;The spiders and centipedes and worms in that scene are not evil: they are just simple life. &nbsp;And they are TERRIFIED by the Nazgûl: they’re fleeing from it. &nbsp;Plants die wherever it passes by them, etc. &nbsp;That’s what’s really happening there.

  Boromir was a good man. He was the most vulnerable to the Ring because he was so desperate to protect his people from Sauron - he&apos;d been fighting that war all his life and felt a duty to save Gondor as everyone expected him to. He was utterly unselfish in that. In that dedication he was the best of Gondor, and it was what the Ring used to destroy him. Boromir is like the hero of a Greek tragedy, brought down by his own greatest virtue.

  Girls -The Hobbit was written between 1937 and 1949. Yeah - it came before Witcher.

  Halfling is not a slur. It&apos;s like when we call Japanese people Japanese. That&apos;s not how they refer to themselves, but it&apos;s not meant as an insult, it&apos;s just what people in a different language/culture refer to them as. Also, the White City is Gondor... The Capital where Aragorn is heir to the throne, and Boromir&apos;s father is the current steward (caretaker) in the absence of a king.

  The innkeeper was actually not condescending to the hobbits. Bree is the first village on the road outside the Shire, and there are even hobbits living there. Further away from the Shire is where you would find more disrespect for hobbits.<br><br>The White City is Minas Tirith, the seat of power in Gondor where the ruling Kings lived with their people. Gondor covers more area, but for the purposes of these movies the White City is the heart of Gondor.<br><br>Tolkien originally wrote out this world building to (somewhat) give England and Anglo-Saxons a sort of mythology that was theirs, not for other people in the world. We’ve already seen some arrogant people note that orcs and goblins are ‘darker’, but any kind of modern CRT deconstruction is pointless. The evil creatures were never meant to represent non-white people today. Tolkien mentions other races of Men in his books, darker of skin and further to the south. Please, leave out the analysis here. Amazon has already tried to rewrite Tolkien for its Rings of Power television series, which has proven to be a complete load of garbage.

  Sean Bean gives one of the all time greatest and most emotional death scenes in movie history. When Boromir is at his lowest and about to die in despair, Aragorn lifts his spirit by promising to protect THEIR people, giving Boromir peace of mind and heart knowing that his people will be saved by Aragorn, his brother in arms, his captain, his king. 🫡😭

  Tolkien wrote his legendium as a mythogy for England. Looking for rac!sm where there is none is always disappointing for me. It was a nice reaction until then. The hair is not only lore important but irl women used to give their significant other lockes of hair as momentos especially when going to war etc. It wasn’t weird.

  Gimli took the three hairs Galadriel gave him and set them in a piece of jewelry as a symbol of friendship between dwarves and elves. There&apos;s history there - long ago a great elf lord asked Galadriel for one of her hairs three times and she refused him because she sensed that his heart was not pure. She sensed a purity of heart in Gimli and gave him three.
