  Dr. Isratel is so interesting because he has such amazing clarity on some issues with unbelievably high nuance, and then the next topic he's got the most batsh*t insane take possible

  Mike made some good points and Mike made some good counterpoints.  There were some things that I disagreed with Mike on, and same with Mike.  Overall, I feel like I got a good dose of Mike.

  The fact they used to consider excess vanity (narcissism) a sin, or at least a bad trait, 2000–3000 years ago is not an arbitrary classification, but because shared human experience proved that vanity turns people self-absorbed, on a scale from unpleasant to insufferable, potentially even evil.

  My one silver lining through all these videos with Isratel is that he still feels safe coming to have these conversations. He's not a well man, he's open about that, and he's still connected with health professionals and speaking openly about things he knows Mike won't agree with. That connection stays important, even if we agree with very little of how he sees the world right now.

  As a firefighter paramedic's wife calling his career glamours is wild. Having patients who bleed and vomit on you, witnessing horrific accidents and living at the station for 24-72 hours straight at a time with your coworkers is not glamours.

  I work with the homeless- they DO HAVE CELL PHONES. What they DON’T have is: extra garments/workout clothes, a place to do exercise where they aren’t exposed to the elements, good nutrition, a place to shower afterwards and soap, etc., etc., etc. MOST IMPORTANTLY, THEY ARE SPENDING ALL OF THEIR TIME AND EFFORTS JUST TRYING TO SURVIVE! Until you have been in their shoes or witnessed it up close, you can’t begin to understand.
