Robert Mardian gave John Erlichman a set of files that made the govt loose the case in the Daniel Ellsberg trial ( pentagon papers) He had “ no room” for these files in the justice department. Erlichman “forgot” he had the files and the government lost the case.

Mardian was a criminal. For example, he continued to float the CIA cover story to investigators for months after learning from Liddy that CREEP had done it.
