I’ve been waiting for an even version because I want to self host. When I started using Odoo it put me on 19.3 which I supposedly couldn’t self host. When is the earliest I should be mostly safe to upgrade.

Early adopter here, we're starting to migrate our modules from 17 to 20 already. We'll take one for the community and beta test it 😂(we're in-house devs tho so its cheaper//easier tho)

i’m starting a 60 user odoo custom implementation, as is, no odoo sh. I feel like starting from zero directly in 20 is the best path here. I feel that training such a grup for 3 months just to tell them we will upgrade in january seems problematic for the “ soft side”.

You just can't. Upgrade scripts aren't ready yet. It usually takes several weeks or months before they get relased

But what about, if you start now with Odoo and need to buy Apps etc. not better to go to Odoo 20 when Apps are available, that you don’t need to pay twice?
