  Fun Fact: In the journal that Heath Ledger had during production of the film, one of the aspects that he studied was the Joker&apos;s laugh and one of the inspirations he used was a Hyena laugh for how unhinged in tone and expression it had.

  The movie&apos;s refusal to give him a real backstory is such a good spit in the face to all the &quot;tragic backstory makes the bad guy justified&quot; as well as obviously making the joker even more of a wild card than he already is

  The thing about Joker licking his scars is actually the result of the appliances used to create the appearance of said scars wanting to come undone, and Heath would lick them to keep them moist and in place, and it turned out accidentally to be a great facial tic for the Joker’s unhinged personality.

  Heath Ledger&apos;s Joker stood out from the other portrayals because he made him organic and mundane in his actions. You knew not to cross him, and get on his bad side. Rest in Peace, Heath Ledger, the Oscar win was well earned.

  My favorite part of the movie is actually Alfred&apos;s speech to Bruce. &quot;Some men aren&apos;t looking for anything logical, like money. They can&apos;t be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.&quot;

  The stories of the joker’s scars instantly took me back to a line from the Killing Joke comic. “If I’m going to have a past I’d prefer it be multiple choice” ledger apparently used that comic for inspiration and it’s those little flashes of his movements or his dialogue that proves this was far more than just The Joker.
