You’ve got the most underrated channel on YouTube, your video about physical media and the shelf inspired me to tackle my phone addiction and it’s been the best year. Thank you for the amazing content.

No joke, you’ve inspired me so much I’m actually doing this. Picked up a good selection from the charity shop and library, though admittedly I’m using a bigger shelf and not counting my millions of digital flashcards. Yipe for physical media September!

I’m so sorry about the car collision. Similar thing happened to me last fall. I was rear ended by a distracted driver, but I was turning right and my driver tire blew out and car rolled a full revolution. 6 months of PT, tons of pain and a lawsuit later, I am not back to how I was before but I recovered very well considering. It sucks being in my mid twenties having hip, shoulder and neck pain daily, but I got full range of motion back and am grateful my injuries weren’t more extensive. And that I’m still alive. Everyone please, Get off the damn phones when driving! And Cary I am so relieved you are alive and well, insurance sucks, but I promise it’s better than having been injured. Wishing things go smoother from here on out.

I LOVE seeing you do this challenge again this year! It's tough existing exclusively with physical media but it's so rewarding and I agree with you that it makes you far more intentional with what you consume. I'm going on 17 months without WiFi at home (by choice) and I almost exclusively use physical media at home. I use hand-me-down xboxs as dvd/bluray players, I have a modded 256G gen 6 iPod classic for music, and I visit the library A LOT. I know you've done videos on the library as well but don't sleep on the audiobook CDs and Playaways! I've built up my music library to an arguably unnecessary level and I always have a few movies/shows on discs, CDs, books, audiobooks, and even board games on loan at the library at all times. The absolute delight I get from putting an item on hold at the library and seeing it's ready for me is unmatched. The library has made my stone-age-adjacent no WiFi life possible and in fact quite lovely! I don't spend money on streaming services and I only purchase the physical media I truly love. I keep a log in each book/disc/CD case of each time I consume the piece of media and even I am surprised how often I return to the same media simply because I only own what I adore. I'd love to see you combine this style video with your library videos somehow; maybe you could do a month with the physical media shelf supplemented only by content free from the library? So happy to see you continuing this series and I wish you the best on your physical media journey 🥳💜

Thanks to you, snail guy—you’ve inspired me to take on the challenge this month. So far, it’s been fantastic! I borrowed a CD player, grabbed some of my roommates’ albums, and picked out a few books, comics, and some OG Xbox, PSP, and NES games. It’s honestly the best way to enjoy media, and I’d forgotten how good it feels.<br>I already have a Nokia feature phone, so when I’m out, it’s practically impossible to scroll social media. Turns out, a little restriction can actually give you more. I might even do it again next month—with a fresh new selection to keep things exciting!
