  One particularly incredible detail: years after being involved in a bombing that killed a photographer, Alain Mafart became a photographer himself, and actually won an award for wildlife photography. And then, one of his photos was selected for inclusion in a calendar -- a calendar made by Greenpeace! When Greenpeace realized who he was, they destroyed 14,000 of the calendars, but 19,000 had already been distributed to retailers.

  Yeah New Zealand hasn&apos;t forgiven this. They never really apologized for this absolutely disgraceful act. Even now they&apos;ll call it a bungled operation and not a mistake or national shame. They thought that NZ is too small and incompetent to catch them, then used their connections in Europe to force us to give up the criminals. The spys were given medals after they commuted their sentences.

  As a New Zealander, the sinking of the Rainbow Warrior is one of the most infamous events in our countries history. Several years prior New Zealand had implemented the nuclear free pacific initiative but France ignored it. Then France blew up a boat in the harbour of our largest city. Unsurprisingly, relations went off a cliff. Even to this day, our country has never really forgiven France.
