Snake was famous before the events of this movie because he's a war hero. He received 2 purple hearts and a congressional medal of honor presented by the previous president.
That, and after ww3, he robbed the federal mint in Philadelphia.
and the federal reserve bank in Cleveland, stealing a few million dollars, the declaration of independence, and the articles of confederation.
And the main branch of a major bank in Kansas city. That's where brain ghosted him and Fresno Bob. That little weasel.
Then, he robbed the federal reserve bank in Denver, and that's where they caught him before the movie.
He's got more, but those happened after this movie.

"Maggie" was Carpenter's wife at the time and the girl that got pulled through the floor was Russell's...The Duke was Chef from South Park.

Very rare to find a middle-aged man that doesn't recognize Isaac Hayes. This movie being set in 1997, we know excatly what happend to the duke after he died- he was instantly reincarnated as Chef, just in time, to appear in the first season of South Park!

When the president put the tape in the song that played was the theme song to a tv show called “American Bandstand “by Dick Clark , each week different groups would come on and play their recent song and the teenagers in audience would dance to the music.

I always loved how the revolver sounded itself “futuristic”.
That, odd, sharp “KEYOW!”. 😁

I was fascinated by synths already when I saw this at age ten in 1984.
I was unaware til later, when I was finally able to afford working with synths due to software ….i finally realized it was a simple synth sound effect.

So cool.

And Carpenter and Howorth’s score, too! So cold and so slick!
A synth score classic for certain!

The big guy Snake had to fight was Ox Baker, a real life wrestling star from back in the day. The unique facial hair was his signature style.

George 'Buck' Flower is always fun to see. Played a lot of winos. He was in several Carpenter films. And a couple of 'Back To The Future' films.

Your son may recognize Ernest Borgnine, Cabby's voice. He was Mermaid Man in Sponge Bob.

Isaac Hayes, The Duke, was the voice of Chef in South Park.
