  I&apos;m not a chef, I don&apos;t bake. I cook very little to be honest. But I sit here in a little cottage in the middle of nowhere Ireland and your videos (watching you for years) release the everyday anxiety knots in me. Not sure why but thank you Becky

  I can&apos;t believe no one from Chicago left a comment about Fannie Mae - not Frannie Mae. They started as a small chocolate shop in Chicago during the 1920&apos;s. It was a big deal to get a box of Fannie Mae chocolates, back in the day. They are still very good. I&apos;m going to try the Fannie Mae recipe.

  Dear Becky, when I was a young mother I would always go to an older couples yard sale down the street. The Mrs. always sold her peanut butter fudge &amp; I would buy it all. It was the best. One day she brought me her fudge with her recipe. That recipe has been on my fridge forever and I never made it. I&apos;m now a grandma and your story about Grandma Ruth inspired me. I made the fudge yesterday and it was the fudge I&apos;ve been chasing since my daughter was little. Thank you for the inspiration.

  Becky, my mom and I made my daughter a family recipe binder. We scanned handwritten recipes and printed them in the binder. It took us 3 years to complete, but my daughter said it was the best college graduation gift ever. <br><br>You could make multiple binders for other family members that would appreciate it. It&apos;s a permanent archive of 5 generations of recipes.

  When you are making a traditional family recipe, &nbsp;it is really important that you use the same brand of chocolate and the same brand of margarine or butter &nbsp;that the family used. That way the flavor is the same. There is a difference between Tollhouse and Giridelli and a difference between blue bonnet and land o lakes. Just like the difference between miracle whip and helman&apos;s. Those little differences make a difference when you are trying to replicate a loved one&apos;s recipe.

  My Dad was the cookie and fudge maker in our family. He passed just before Christmas 3years ago at age 93. He had given his famous soft sugar cookie recipe to me when he turned 90. I don’t have his fudge recipe but I know he made it with marshmallows, and semisweet chocolate. I’m going to make Josh’s grandma’s fudge as I think it might be the recipe my Dad used.   Hi Becky, it&apos;s me, Brenda in Salem. This video nearly brought me to tears. My Grama passed away 7 years ago and my Mom passed away 6 years ago. Making fudge was passed down from my Great Grama on down to me. I&apos;m going to teach my 27 year old to make it this year. They&apos;re FINALLY taking an interest in cooking (they love you too btw). Thank you SO much for this video in particular. I wasn&apos;t sure I wanted to make fudge this year. I haven&apos;t made it since Mom died. Maybe watching this video was her way of telling me to do it. ❤

  My dad passed away July 2024 and I live 1.5 hrs from my mom. When I was down there last, I showed my mom some of your videos and she fell in love with your channel. She told me she likes to play your videos because it &nbsp;feels like you&apos;re in her house and she&apos;s catching up with a friend.

  These are stories we cherish. Cards, backs of envelopes and torn out magazine pages. With the oil stains and carefully pennened recipes have the knowledge and voice of our elders. We can reproduce the dishes of our generations knowing the types of food that is a part culture and history.<br>I have promised my recipes, including my mother&apos;s recipes handed down to me to my daughter amd find it exciting to think she will carry on the traditions. I made one recipe with her last week and had forgotten how good the banana bread recipe was. An elderly single &quot;adopted&quot; Uncle who had known my husband&apos;s family for years gave it to me as a wedding gift(I was a very young bride learning to cook) the recipe is signed by him and over 100 years old.
