OP who helped a non-disabled woman push a moroized wheelchair left me feeling sad for them. I rely on those motorized scooter-carts to shop at the big box stores and Wally World. My closest Wally World refuses to service their scooters so they no longer hold a charge long enough for anyone to make a single circuit of the store. A couple of years ago on Christmas Eve I arrived at the store as soon as they opened, hoping to get a scooter with enough of a charge to complete my list. After switching to a new cart THREE times, an associate came to help me. Without skipping a beat, "Bob" grabbed the back of the seat and pushed the scooter to my last item on my list and then pushed the cart to the checkout. Bob, the Walmart associate at the Regent Street Walmart in Fredericton, N.B., Canada - YOU ROCK!

I remember when I was 4 or 5 i was watching sesame street and Elmo was talking about dialing 911 if you ever need to talk to the fire department. Well my 5 year old brain wanted to talk to Elmo and the firefirghter on the tv, Then it clicked and I saw the landline and long story short the cops and the fire department swarmed my house cause they thought a 5 year old was unresponsive after I walked away from the phone once I realized it wasnt Elmo

As a nurse who worked through COVID, I have enough stories to fill hours about people spouting incorrect info, and being sure about it.
And for “no good deed goes unpunished.”

Every time I see a post or listen to a video that mentions putting Icy Hot or other mentholated products on one's nethers, whether accidental or not, I always leave a comment to let anyone who sees said comment know for future reference, petroleum jelly is the antidote! It sounds counter-intuitive but apparently is a thing! Hopefully it's knowledge one will never need; but you know that old adage: "better to have it and not need it..."

We had a stop light thing too. All the teachers would act like we would all die if the light went to red. It only went to yellow once, and that was when I was in kindergarten.

Have to chuckle at the guy washing his GF’s laundry and shrunk her shirts. My ex did the laundry once while I was at school. I was going to Beauty School where we had to wear white dress uniforms. I know how he does laundry 🧺. He puts everything in the washing machine without sorting. Darks, lights and whites, don’t matter. Wash everything in hot water. My heart nearly stopped until he mentioned that he didn’t wash my uniforms.

Rule that backfired: no phones on the floor, no exceptions. The next day had a Hazmat spill. Couldn't leave the spill, couldn't call the safety manager, couldn't ask a coworker to find them as I was alone in my area. Rule was changed.

On the Carnival Games being a waste of money story in here, when I was pretty young, I was at a local carnival that had one of those "throw the baseball and knock down the bottles" games with an alien toy prize that I REALLY wanted. Every few bucks I could get I went back to that game for it, it got to the point where the Carny gave me a free turn while I was walking by, and then knocked the bottles over himself and handed me the toy.

I probably spent three or four times it's actual value, but I had that for YEARS and eventually gave him to a younger relative to enjoy.
