  Derek Bentley should never have been hanged in the first place for a murder that he didn't commit.

  The judge wanted the death penalty as a deterrent to any more policemen being shot.<br>But I don&apos;t believe Derek Bentley was guilty of murder, his alleged statement was ambiguous and I think he ought to have been given a custodial sentence.

  Just wanted to say that I find the videos very interesting and that my brother met Fred at Sutton Coldfield town hall and told Fred to have a look at the history of the Fewtrel brothers who ran night clubs and ran a car sales business in Birmingham city centre...

  I see Craig was too much of a coward to be interviewed. Apparently, he was asked to take part, but declined.<br>He only did ten years in prison and, since then, has apparently kept out of trouble with the courts. So the killer<br>starts life over again at 26 years old, while an innocent man rots in the ground, Bravo.<br>I was alive when he was hanged, SO IT WAS NOT SO LONG AGO, not the Middle Ages, ?????.

  Derek’s niece is being disingenuous here. Her family CAN’T lie? Please. I don’t think her uncle should have been hanged at all, but she’s really putting it on here.

  I remember when Derek&apos;s sister Iris died and I felt so sorry, she never stopped trying to clear Derek&apos;s name. And for the policeman who said and put it writing that Derek never said &quot;Let em have it&quot; and it vanishes was proof the police wanted revenge and they would get it when they hung Derek. &nbsp;The case was a bit similar to Timothy Evans he was mentally slow and hung for John Christie&apos;s murders
