  2nd year IBEW apprentice who mainly does commercial, this is definitely an accurate video of rough-in at this stage of the project. From the little i have experienced already 😅. Good video for interested people wondering what an actual work day might look like!

  I came across this video the end of last year while I was looking for a career change into the trades, and now I'm 6 months into my apprenticeship doing commercial work through my local. One of the best decisions I've ever made and I'm enjoying my work every day.

  This is great man, I just passed all the exams for apprenticeship, I’m just waiting for my drug tests results to come back and hopefully I get sponsored by a company soon so I can start working and doing my best.

  Great explanation of the importance of precise measurement to install a box between the studs. One suggestion, on repetitive measurements create a story pole. The pole will act as a reference to the standardized hight of a box you are installing for a switch, outlet, data etc... Also, the pole will avoid you having to continually measure at every location.

  Little heads up put your mud ring on off to the side so you don&apos;t have to ground and pigtail thru the single gang hole.<br>Then put the mud on after your done

  Looks like great work, I’m a residential electrician and commercial work was just never really for me, watching these is interesting to me because it’s so different from the work I do

  LOL those damn Caddy supports you can used the sliders or brackets an level the hell out of them but guaranteed the sheetrockers coming behind you putting up drywall going to cut out a crooked or off center cutout that&apos;s going to knock the mud ring slightly crooked. When you go to trim out the receptacles on a even slightly crooked mud ring your screw sometimes wind up way left or right on the yoke...It drives me crazy!!!
