I think you nailed it! The old one was great, super plush, but always felt a little too controlly for the name and what niche it was supposed to fill inin head’s lineup.

This new one really feels powerful with lots of spin! You do sacrifice a little control and plush feel, but it still feels like an extreme at the end of the day. I think head really nailed it with this one!

Hi Sean, excellent review, as usual, especially given that you also spent time with the 2024 version of this racquet.

I recently picked up the 2026 Extreme Pro after having previously tried the 2024 model and currently playing with a Radical MP. There were a few things that stood out to me.

First, in terms of comfort, I honestly don't feel a huge difference compared to the 2024 version. If anything, the new frame feels a little more direct, if that's the right word, but not stiffer or less comfortable. I have a fairly sensitive arm and haven't experienced any issues at all. In fact, I would say my Radical MP feels slightly firmer. Overall, I think Head has done a very good job filtering out vibrations in both racquets.

The second thing I noticed, and this is something I also experienced with the Radical MP, is that both frames seem to benefit significantly from additional weight in the hoop, particularly the lower swing weight examples. My Radical MP arrived with a sub-290 unstrung swing weight, and I had to add a couple of grams at 12 o'clock to bring it into the mid-320s before it really came alive.

The new Extreme Pro was similar. I played a singles set against one of my regular hitting partners last week and, frankly, it was a bit of a disaster. At around 318 strung swing weight, I felt like I had very little weight behind the ball. Since then, I've added about 3 grams of lead tape, split between 10 and 2 o'clock, which should increase the swing weight by roughly 7-8 points. That puts it in the mid-to-high 320s, and for me, as a 4.5-level player, that's where the racquet really starts performing.

A stronger player could probably push the swing weight even higher, but I personally don't think this racquet reaches its potential in stock form, at least not at the swing weights I've encountered. I should also mention that I ordered a pair of matched racquets from Tennis Warehouse, and the highest unstrung swing weight they could find was 288, which translates to roughly 318 strung. That suggests many retail frames are going to come in fairly light.

Given that this is already a more controlled take on a spin-oriented racquet, I think it definitely benefits from additional weight in the hoop, both for stability and put-away power.

That said, I really, really like this version.

Comparing it to my customized Radical MP, which has both lead tape and a leather grip, the two racquets actually play more similarly than I expected. The Extreme Pro has a bit more pop and launches the ball on a slightly higher trajectory, but overall the differences are not massive. Spin generation is also somewhat easier with the Extreme Pro, largely because the string movement seems more pronounced.

To me, this is a genuine all-court racquet, although it's probably best suited to intermediate-to-advanced players, and perhaps even more so to advanced players. The upside is that it has a lot of potential once you start customizing it and dialing in the weight and balance to your preferences.

Anyway, that's my take on it. I'd be curious to hear whether your experience was similar.

Sean, I think the review on this one is, as ever, a solid review. I know that AC tennis do their reviews in a little more depth because they test string combos, and a few other mods like grips, and weight, but you probably cant do that because you get what you get from ATT. All good.

One thing you might do though, is show us where these rackets rank compared to others. Based on the various criteria, I get the feeling that this racket is a lot like an Ezone with more spin, whereas I feel like a Vcore is more of a club due to its weight distribution/balance point.

Hey Sean, great video. I would really like to hear your thoughts on the new prince tour 98. Maybe even a comparison video with the blade 98? Anyway, keep up the good work and good luck on your next matches.

I went from Extreme MP 2024 to MP XL. Personally I like it quite a lot, not a lot of changes which is fine, fun to play with.
