"How Rome conquered the people who invented conquest."<br><br>Greece had Alexander. Greece had the phalanx. Greece had two centuries of military dominance. Rome was a republic of farmers.<br><br>So how did this happen?<br><br>The answer involves a naval blockade, a 70-year grudge, the world's most effective propaganda stunt, and two battles on broken hillsides that changed history.

Does this video give any credit to Philip of Macedonia, who gave Alexander everything to make his success possible, no ;)

All of that would have been useless had the Legion not been superior to the Phalanx. Rome conquered Greece and her kids because Cynocephalae, Magnesia and Pydna happened. Of course, in the long run, Greece conquered Rome more profoundly through its culture. Heck, the Eastern Roman Empire, which lasted a thousand years after Rome fell, was thoroughly Greek.
