Zig isn't for everybody but when I found it, it was exactly what I was looking for.

I love that his argument was "it's fun."<br><br>I honestly can't think of a better reason to use a language.

The aspect of fun cannot be understated. You can be as professional and disciplined as you want - the moment you're having fun, you are more productive and your output is just better by a substantial margin.

I do think there's a (non-engineering, not-so concrete) argument for choosing a language that you like: it's just higher morale of the team, and that actually does count a lot.

Because Mitchell likes Zig. Sometimes it's that simple. Yes, there are other modern languages other than Rust.

I discovered Zig a while ago and recently started going deeper into the language, really loving so far. It was exactly the same reason that made me stick to Zig and enjoy it, I wanted a modern and better C and Zig fits that really well

That's a great self aware setup to this question, subbed

Very valid. If you love what you do, you'll inevitably find a way to do it well. 🙂

Wow ThePrimeagen said effectively the same thing. It makes me want to try Zig. Professionally I am a C# developer. I'm learning C right now and I'm really loving it. I hope it never dies although Zig sounds like a worthy replacement

Having fun writing in a language is such a good point upon choosing, recently having fun writing in golang, gotta try zig in some future projects.

I am learning and quite enjoying rust, though I may give zig a try as well, seems like something I would quite like as well.
