And a lot are some of the biggest companies in the world.<br><br>I wanted to really understand why all of this is happening, and why so much of it is happening right now. And again, I wanted to find out... why Rust? So I dug into every Rust rewrite I could get my hands on and made a new video to follow up this one.

  If you rewrite convoluted legacy code from scratch, the performance generally improves by a lot. The fact that Discord froze for long time and stopped doing that after rewriting, wasn&apos;t because the Rust is a superior language, it was because it was poorly written in the first place. I rewrote C++ code using C++ and achieved 4x performance improvement. Does that mean that C++ is better than C++?

  Rust made me think about ownership so much that even when I’m coding in python I’m thinking about it. Rust made me a better programmer in general. It made me learn a lot of programming concepts that I wasn’t even taught in school. And the resources to learn are there.

  Rust compiles slow, but just you wait until they rewrite the compiler in Rust. Then they’ll rewrite that one in Rust. And so on until we get ♾️x performance increase. It’s just science.

  I actually love Rust not because of the speed and performance and all that, but the strict type checking and rules man, sure your code could be bad but you can be confident that it runs exactly like the way it is written. The speed and performance Rust gives for me it&apos;s just the extras

  Companies that uses Rust tend to rewrite lot of code (besides developing new features), and that means that they already have a product that makes money and the cost of paying engineers to rewrite it is worth it because it saves them millions in infrastructure cost.

  it&apos;s so nice to find a level-headed and detail-oriented software youtube channel. So many people in software online are hype bros that sling unfounded opinions and guilt people who do anything differently.<br><br>This is such a chill video where I get to learn a bit about rust and think about it myself, without feeling guilty I&apos;m not already building entire websites with it or some shit.
