A tip I heard for female cosplayers is to cosplay as a male character (if you're comfortable) because most male characters in modern media are fully covered compared to females

Edit: New to cosplaying btw, thank you for the tips!

Two years ago my younger sibling and I went to a convention as Greg and Wirt from Over the garden wall, I didn't expect the amount of people that asked us for pictures, and seeing them so excited even if our costumes were like very casual and not that polished really meant a lot to me.
I've always loved cosplay but never had the courage to actually commit to it, that experience was the little push I needed to actually start my journey.

Ofc I'm still very new to it all, but I'm sure there's lots of people like me that appreciate tips like these that'll make a huge difference for us, thank you so much! ❤

I'm at tip 2, here is a small workaround in some cases (depends on various factors), wear sunglasses instead or something. But ya shouldn't hide your eye's natural beauty

A personal tip is if you wear something or roleplay something that in any way restricts your comunication, have at least one person who understands you. I know a couple furries who like to speak with emotes, and sometimes people have a hard time understanding them, I usually cosplay special forces, Danish frogmen and SAS are some favourites, the scrim nets and gasmasks can make it hard to talk by removing facial expressions, muffling voices and sometimes hard to breathe in, and not everyone knows infantry man hand signal (ask me how I know) So I like to bring an airsoft friend who understands the mask talk.

When I first cosplayed volunteering at an outdoors Halloween Event last year I forgot to account of the weather because there was this random 80F/27C day (In my defense it's pretty rare for Late-October here) that caused issues for my Makoto Itou cosplay

Learned from my mistake since on hot days I now would wear the causal outfit of light blue T-Shirt + Khaki Shorts instead since it's more summer friendly then the school outfit (Which has a lot of black)
