She's raising her kids ALONE on THIRD SHIFT and didn’t know WHAT TO DO

It was sitting right on the corner of a main road, and you couldn't miss it because the grass was getting chest high in spots. So I pulled up and knocked on the door, but I didn't get an answer. I came back the next day, and right as I was pulling in, the homeowner pulled into the driveway. I hopped out to catch her, and she recognized me right away, so she already knew why I was there. I told her I'd love to clean everything up completely free of charge, and she told me that would really be a blessing. She'd been in a tough spot recently. She works night shifts, so she sleeps during the day while her kids are at school, and the evening is really the only time she gets with them. Between that and all the rain we'd been getting, the yard had just gotten away from her. So I got started, and this one ended up taking two full days. There was so much overgrowth along the front and side of the garage that once I cleared it out, I found a sidewalk buried underneath that ran all the way around the house. Since it's a corner lot, there was a ton of edging to do along every curb and sidewalk. I got all of that cleaned up and mowed the whole property down. There was one section of poison ivy I left alone, since I can't touch that stuff, so I let her know to keep the kids clear of it until she can get it sprayed. Before I left, I wanted to help her out a little more, so I gave her some money to help cover maintenance for the summer.
