The Future ❤️

Next Saturday we’ll be back with a themed video bringing together three remarkable women whose lives intersect in fascinating ways. The week after that, on the 31st, we’ll return with a brand-new long-form biography—one many of you have asked us to cover. And on the 7th, we’ll be sharing a shorter story about a woman you mentioned in the comments. And the 14th will bring a woman who is almost uncovered on Youtube.

Alongside the longer, deep-dive biographies, you’ll also see episodes like this one from time to time. These smaller, self-contained stories allow us to post consistently while we’re researching and crafting the larger projects—and they let us explore moments of mystery, heroism or scandal that don’t always fit a full biography format.

Let us know in the comments how you feel about these kinds of stories as well. Your feedback, your insights, and your voices genuinely shape this channel. Thank you so much. I know this video won't get the views. But I hope you like it. ❤️

The fact that she registered at the hotel with the name of her husband's mistress undercuts the idea that she had no awareness of who she was or what she was doing. It strongly suggests her disappearance was not random, accidental, or due to complete amnesia, as was sometimes claimed later. In my opinion, it points to some kind psychological breakdown following betrayal, exhaustion, and grief (her mother had died earlier that year). Losing her mother, finding out her husband was having an affair and then him asking for a divorce would have really pulled the rug from under her. Perhaps she just needed to escape from the emotional shock, hurt and anger and needed space and time to deal with it all.

I am a fan of Agatha Christie, the woman. She was a good writer but a superb strong woman who survived cold betrayal from her great love , her first husband who treated her with incredible coldness at the moment she lost her beloved mother suddenly, but somehow survived in an era when women were judged by their marriages, not by their resourcefulness. But she went on writing, travelling even marrying again this time a more balanced and harmonious union, become a truly rich self made women who still supports her family from beyond the grave. How can you fail to be a fan of Agatha Christie ?

She vanished to go deal with all the emotions and a little twist of revenge for the husband & mistress. Just bigger than she had originally planned.

I feel sorry for her and Archie. I believe that Archie unknowingly suffered from the effects of PTSD or called shell shocked at those times. This causes effects that some people could recognize, but many don't understand. I am 79 and have PTSD since Vietnam 1966-67. I drank, pop pills, and my moods were erratic at times. Most people didn't always understand me, to be frank, i didn't either. I have been married 4 times. The first 3, even though I wasn't violent with them just couldn't take my moods. I married my 4th wife in 1979 and she stood by my side and for this she helped change my life and she and my seeking mental health has changed my life to the better again. So many combat veterans have PTSD but, they refuse mental health issues.

I am convinced Agatha inspired Gone Girl. As women, we all know she just needed some alone time.

The Opposite of Love is not Hate, it is Indifference, Hate has emotion, there exists a desire and pain. With Indifference, there is no emotion, no regret, no desire ...

Her story reads like a book ... 📚

B Bartlett
Sociologist/Behavioralist
and Historian

I have loved Agatha Christie since the 1960’s and still do today. My favorite story is “ENDLESS NIGHT” for its bizarre plot twists.
I too have always wondered what happen during her disappearance. I always felt so very sorry for her.

A Christie's "ME TIME". She redefined the terms of the time, for vacation, holiday and rest & relaxation.
Gone were the titles and expectations the world gave her; wife, mother, author, daughter, celebrity.
What remained was just a woman who danced and did puzzles in peace... for a little while
