  trump said in his election campaign what his goal was......to take the USA back to the 70's where terriffs paid for infrastructure, things are built in the USA  and Americans were all prosperous,  nobody in Canada paid attention to trump or what he was saying at that time so it is catching everybody off guard!

  Carney and the Liberals are desperately trying to find another Sugar Daddy, because America has told Canada it’s time to stop acting like an irresponsible teen. You have to grow up and pay at least some of your own bills. In return, Canada is that spoiled teen having a major temper tantrum. The majority of Canada are refusing to grow up.

  I do not understand why any Canadian would have expected an exemption from tariffs that the US was putting on the rest of the world. Like, does nobody understand the concept of a change in trade policy? That&apos;s all the tariffs ever were. Why TF would Canada be exempt from a blanket trade policy change? Because we&apos;re next door to the US? So? So is Mexico, and they got tariffs just like every other country. <br><br>It&apos;s making me crazy that so many Canadians cannot get it into their heads that the tariffs were not an &quot;attack&quot; on Canada. They weren&apos;t an attack on any country. They were simply a change in trade policy. That&apos;s it. <br><br>And all Canada had to do was negotiate, like every other country. That&apos;s it. <br><br>What makes us so special that we should have been exempt? <br><br>And why are Canadians too thick to understand any of this? <br><br>Oh right. Because the Liberal government and their propaganda outlets keep telling us we&apos;re being attacked. <br><br>I mean... it&apos;s pretty ridiculous. Looking at Canada like it&apos;s in some special tariff vacuum that the rest of the world isn&apos;t is just bonkers to me. <br><br>Can we please remember that these tariffs were applied to ALL countries. Ergo they were not an attack.
