Duct renovations always get declined here on chain restaurants. It is very expensive and they see no return. I have seen the duct work hacked for years and you have semi ridged to flex and then to flex on renovations. Then the engineer said "have you balanced the A/C".... like how can we!!!!

Air flow wise - you may not be able to make it perfect but you can certainly make it much better than it was.

ugh if I could be a diagnostic hvac tech I would be in heaven. That was the best part of my generator mechanic job in the army just diagnosing and fixing stuff.

I am still so confused how contactors are used over there. Over here in Europe we classify devices, casings, hoursings etc for the environment they should work in. Even for me working with less critical things it is important to use the correct things. We have IPXX on all of the things where the last X is for water and the first X is for dust etc. The first x, a 4 would make sure that anything larger than 1 mm can't get in. A 6 would be completely sealed from dust etc. That would keep the sand away. Shouldn't be hard to install the contactors with IP64.

as a european tech i REALLY dont like the "financial restraint" used with that 2 pole contactor instead of a normal 3 pole. for my sanity i am completly ignoring the open hot terminals. just shoving your hand in that electrical box by accident would probably kill you on the spot.

I really enjoy your videos and watch them at every opportunity.<br>But most guys don't even do half of what you do... I'm really glad you can get more in-depth than field reality.

The contact points on that motor contactor / relay are made with nickel plated copper. Sanding bad contact points only exposes more of the soft copper. This will lead to a greater chance of the contact points welding together in the closed position. Don't do it! Just replace them!

A long time ago I was attending a technical school in Germany. To pass one course we had to disassemble one contactor to single bits. Show the parts to the teacher, reassemble it and demonstrate in circuit that it's working again.
