I appreciate sharing your knowledge. 3 things I’d like to add; NEVER USE REFRIGERANT WITH A STOP LEAK IN IT. It will void the warranty of any new part you install and isn’t good for your compressor and orifice/metering device. I also would not charge a system without being able to see what the high side is doing unless I was in a pinch. It gives valuable insight into system operation and if it’s working the way it should be. You can also find temperature/pressure charts to help you charge the correct amount.

I recently added some 134a to the family car but since I’m so smart the can also had oil in it. BAD MOVE but not fatal. The AC wasn’t that cold when I was done so I bled out quite a bit of the coolant and oil and replaced it with plain coolant which worked perfectly. It shouldn’t get oil if I doesn’t need it. A slow learner but successful. <br>I hope it stays good.

I use a combination of soap bubbles, UV dye/goggles. electronic sniffer, and visual examination for residue to find refrigerant leaks. &nbsp;NEVER add stop leak or refrigerant containing sealant. &nbsp;I use a can side tap.

Great info. For many years. &nbsp;Cars have come from the factory with leak dye in the system already. &nbsp; Also, do not put stop leak in a vehicle AC system. It will mess it up bad!
