  I'm 51 now and this movie was one of my favorites when I was a kid. When you grew up in the 80's space movies were very common and you didn't really care witch movie was better. All's it had to do is capture your imagination. And the black hole did that.

  Trivia left out. Before the movie, a black hole was nothing but an equation. The depiction of it in the movie was the first visualization of a black hole.

  The Black Hole, Logan's Run, and Forbidden Planet are the 3 baddest old-school sci-fi flicks of all time. Hell, Stephen Hawking said Black Hole was his favorite movie, and he practically invented them, lol. If you want to do another dark video like this, do Logan's Run. It's just as good as Black Hole, but in completely different ways.

  Absolutely love this underrated movie! I think too many people were comparing it to Star Wars at the time since they were only two years apart. I loved the dark images and the eerieness of the sets. The robots are the best part of the movie and (spoiler alert) contains one of the  saddest robot death scenes ever.

  At nearly 53 now, I remember seeing The Black Hole at the drive-in. As my mom was a big horror fan who did no believe in censoring what fiction I watched, I wasn't scared away by the dark tones of the movie. I absolutely adored VINCENT and BOB. I'd say the hardest part of the movie for me was BOB dying. I still rewatch The Black Hole every now and then, and I think the movie holds up well as a sci-fi/horror masterpiece.

  What happened to Bob was one of the saddest moments of my childhood unfortunately I also fell asleep during this film in the cinema because it was so dark.

  Dr. Reinhardt peering out through the visor of the murderous robot, possibly trapped forever. Was the most chilling part of the film for me

  Im fairly certain the Cygnus in the Black Hole was the inspiration for the Event Horizon. Both were exploration science ships and just too many parallels that practically make them sister ships! Oddly I havent heard of this acknowledgement before.

  The main theme music still haunts my dreams 45 years later. Not to mention the fireball rolling down the glass structure. Event Horizon wishes it could be as good as The Black Hole.

  I'm 52 and my dad took my younger brother and I to the theater to watch this movie. We LOVED IT. Even the dark ending.

  I'll never forget seeing the intro in the theater as a 6 or old. It was absolutely mesmerizing, even if the rest of the film was very confusing
