I was working at a movie theater during highschool when this came out. I must have watched it almost 50 times that summer. Still one of my top 10.

I like how 2 of the biggest films of the 80’s, Ghostbusters and Robocop, on the surface have very silly names, but are both actually strong and iconic.

I loved Ghostbusters. When I make it to New York I want to see the Fire Station they used for the movie.

I see where you've acquired the new bits about the making-of, but it's a shame you didn't include this cool bit of detail: Frank Price, the studio exec who greenlit the film back in 1983 under the brutal condition that it had to be in cinemas by June 8, 1984, was let go right after. Yet, lo and behold, he landed a job at Universal—the very studio holding the rights to Filmation's original namesake property and its animated spin-off. Normally getting fired isn't helpful, but that was truly the universe getting behind 'Ghostbusters'.

I just realized that on the stunt pack on the roof where they’re all packed together there are no v hooks to hold the wands to the packs
