A salute to my brothers in west. There's been so much videos online about Finland (and I'm Finnish) but we should't never forget about our Viking brothers in Sweden, Norway and Denmark. They are as resolute as us. And if that something hits the fan as we say, we are proud to be side to side with these guys. Hopefully still we can sit in sauna side by side and just enjoy our life in peace. But always prepared. Fina Hjältar!

they walked the extra miles partially to honour a fellow mountain jaeger who died on an exercise. it says 'In memory of Carl Ekbring' at the end. He fell and died in an avalanche in '23 at Mt. Kebnekeise, Sweden's highest peak. (I'm pretty sure - can't find the article wo a pay-wall) 🤙

Polite, quiet, kind, non-aggressive, no bravado, no chest thumping, no flag waving, no loud mouthed ”patriotism”. Just a firm commitment to carry out the mission. These are real soldiers, real humans. Tack killar för att ni försvarar oss!

15:57 "Sir Väs" is the snake from the Disney cartoon Robin Hood. Referring to when the snake is sleeping in the cradle. He is implying his mate sounds like the snake(snoring) and calls him "Sir Väs".

Some swedes do this for fun. "Vita Bandet"; ski half of Sweden. 1334 km along the mountains; on average it takes 61 days, the record is 27 days. I'm not gonna claim we are sane here...

At 7:37 you can see one of the soldiers has the Edelweiss on his arm, meaning he's been to the German mountaineering school which is pretty cool!

Where I live North of the Arctic Circle in Sweden, in Jokkmokk, we have an annual ski race out there .. 220 km in one go. The Nordenskiöldsloppet. The all time record is way below 13 hrs.

I read a interview with the team leader Oscar and he said that his body almost went into shock and having a fever when he sat in the car on the way back, since his body was so used to moving and skiing all the time so the body didn't know how to react to just sitting still.
