Nice to hear an American talk about Europe and Americas allies like this! A breath of fresh air compared to what we've gotten used to the past couple of months :S
As a Swede, I'm glad we're now part of Nato. The war in Ukraine made it extremely clear just how much of a threat Russia still is. Democracies should stand united in face of such autocratic violence.

As a Swede, it is my opinion that there is nothing better you can have between yourself and Russia than Finland.

French here and I must say I quite like the Swedish military perspective. Well it's a lot like the French one in the sense that they developed their own military industry to safeguard their independence. I don't know much about their corvettes and landing ships (which look fine at the very least) but their Grippen fighter and Archer howitzer are really good from what I gathered.
They have a relatively small army due to their equally small population, but they are highly specialized in costal and arctic environment (and probably not half bad in mountainous terrain either). On such terrains you don't need hundreds of thousands of peoples. On their ground or similar environment they can probably get a staggering attrition rate against more conventional soldiers.
So I think NATO's arctic capabilities just made a huge leap forward with them.

If I'm not mistaken our Minister of Defense is a former Coastal Ranger! And our Cheif of Defence sure knows how to speak. His resume speaks for itself I think! "Completed his military service at I 19/P5 in Boden. He attended the German National General Staff Course, served as a lecturer at the Swedish Defence University, expert at the Ministry of Defence, and Deputy Military Representative at the Swedish Delegation to NATO in Brussels.
He has also held positions as Commander of the Land Warfare Centre in Skövde, Commander of the Swedish military contingent in northern Afghanistan, Military Adviser at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, and Chief of Joint Operations of the Swedish Armed Forces."

Sweden's navy has 500 years under its belt. So they should know what they're doing

What's good bro! Swedish Armed Forces second account just posted a video titled "Orionpatrullen - Jägarnas 50-milamarsch genom Nordkalottens vildmark" which is a 500km arctic patrol mission by the K4 Ranger Regiment. I watched it with the auto-generated English subtitles and it was spot on 99,9% of the time. It struggles with slang or abbreviations as we all know, but the main narration + conversations are all perfectly understandable! Don't want to link it in case a spam filter gets me. Cheers!
