I always love when Ian is on, he's so articulate and his deadpan delivery pleases me greatly

This sounds like an abusive relationship. "No matter what he does, he must have a good reason!"

What does it feel like to be wrong? The exact same way it feels to be right!!! Something I never even thought about before, but an excellent point.

Leaders should always be questioned. No one and nobody is above scrutiny. Including gods.

Whenever these types use phrases like "if we came from stardust and protoplasm, just rocks and gases" they're tacitly admitting their bottomless religious narcissism to you.<br><br>-Because what they're REALLY communicating is "That's not GRAND enough to have produced ME."<br><br>Any and all attempts to place a "who" rather than the more logical “what” into the equation of where the universe and/or life came from or how it formed is pure religious narcissism. insisting on inserting a human-like personality, even an uber-superhuman one is back-handed ego stroking by the theist. They connect themselves (and imagined value) by proxy TO that super being. <br> <br>They wallow in ego thinking they're of grand importance. Because they're terrified of their insignificance on the cosmic scale. <br> <br>They are horrified they may NOT actually have some grand purpose and destiny preordained by powers that recognize their supposed magnificence. <br> <br>And THAT is what they're actually railing against. Religion strokes your ego, science strips your delusions of grandeur away. <br> <br>And THAT is why they hate it. <br> <br>That's why they are terrified and horrified by the reality of biological evolution: <br> <br>Nothing strikes at the heart of religious narcissism more lethally. <br> <br>Evolution strips away all concepts of religiously induced self-aggrandizement. <br> <br> It profoundly humbles the human race, shoves us back into the planets "line of life", Removes both notions of profound origins and grand eternal destinies and reaffirms your mortality, finite nature and impending death. <br> <br>And all of that is NOT ALLOWED to be true in their unimaginably self-celebrating world.

The caller would end his family if he thought that god told him to. Religion is a good tool to control psychos lest they have no threats to keep them in line.

“Why do you believe something that is not demonstrable” Question of the century that will never be answered.

I wish these callers would get educated and study just a little about evolution. It would open their eyes even just a bit.
