  The NFL is VERY conservative when it comes to play calling and running an offense. The belief is that running QBs get hurt more than pocket passers. Teams build their offense around the quarterback so it is the position that is hardest to replace. Take Patrick Mahomes who has been the best NFL quarterback in the last 10 or so years. Patrick is a MOBILE quarterback and scrambles. That means he is good at getting away from pass rushers and avoids sacks. He tends to not run the ball but is mostly looking to throw. QBs like Jackson, Justin Fields, Josh Allen and Jalen Hurts are more likely to use their legs and run the ball. In the past, the NFL simply wouldn&apos;t gamble on a running quarterback. Good running quarterbacks were mostly black so they were the ones who never got a chance.

  The NFL has always had a problem starting Black QB&apos;s. The always try to change them into receivers. Over the years the league has been getting better 😮

  For years Teams used to want a 6&apos;5 sturdily built white quarterback. Would use the words &quot;intelligent play&quot; for them and &quot;athletic play&quot; for black QBs. As the league has changed over the years and defensive players have gotten faster, mobile QBs are needed more than ever.

  As a former rugby player in the US... if american football did not exist, the USA would make New Zealand look like a joke. We would never lose a game and we would win every world cup. In fact, if the big 4 didnt exist (NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL), and the only sports were Soccer, Rugby and Cricket, I am confident in saying we would win all 3 world cups nearly every time. If you take all the American MLB talent and just transferred them to cricket itd be an insane team. I will say the latin countries would also be extremely competitive, so this would probably be our least dominant sport, but we would still win often. If you pulled a rugby team off the existing NFL talent it would dominate. then if you combined the &nbsp;remaining NFL talent with NBA talent for soccer teams. i mean come on. What are you gonna do if i put a 6&apos;6&quot; 250 pound NBA player at striker with a 40&quot; vertical leap and send in a header. He is going to jump 2 feet higher than any defender. Now... the key is this wouldnt happen over night. I think if the NFL was disbanded we could win rugby if you gave the guys only 1 year to train. soccer is a completely different set of tools. It would take a generation. maybe 15 years. then all the kids who are 8 and about to start football would never play football. youd have a huge pool of guys 18-25 years old who have been training soccer for 15 years all with the genetics of the guys in this video. itd be over. im sorry. the only reason we dont dominate the big 3 sports in the world, soccer, rugby, cricket, is because they arent even in the top 5 most popular sports in our country.

  The thing with Lamar that he ran into was the fact that most GMs and scouts are cowards. They develop rules for positions that they stick to religiously. They are entirely built to minimize failure. They don&apos;t allow for things never seen before. Lamar was clearly extremely athletic in college and looked like a good passer too, but all of history had told them that athletic QBs get hit more and hurt more. Also, there hadn&apos;t been an elite athlete playing QB that was also an elite passer and mentally elite, which makes sense because you can&apos;t focus on improving everything. There were lots of opinions out there about race being a factor and it probably was because race seems to impact everything to some degree, but the less inflammatory and more accurate reason, in my opinion, was the cowardice of decision-makers that stick to their rules for evaluating players. They will always miss out on special mold-breaking players, but they would argue that the rules help minimize their misses. I&apos;m not sure. I don&apos;t know if the statistics bear that out, but if you are just going to follow the rules, then you don&apos;t even need a human to make those decisions.
