  what I don’t like is the literal ‘holier than thou’ attitude all these rapture believers had. leaving instructions and I told you so’s for all of us, the awful terrible horrible people who will burn in hell. Meanwhile them claiming to know the date of the rapture is blasphemy in itself

  My dad is schizophrenic and his main paranoid delusion was that we were in the end times and the rapture was coming. I can say for sure it is incredibly damaging for a child to be raised in a doomsday prepping household. As a child, I was in fear all the time, leading to OCD and severe intrusive thoughts that still effect me as an adult.

  As someone who grew up in a deeply religious household and was regularly scarred to hell and back about Rapture prophecies and &quot;being left behind&quot;...<br><br>Those kids are not pretending. They have been well and truly brainwashed into believing they&apos;re hearing from God. It&apos;s a bit of a vicious cycle -- your parent talks incessantly about how the Rapture is coming, so you think about it constantly, and eventually start having dreams about it, and when you tell your parent about your dream, she says it&apos;s a sign, so she talks about it more.... Etc etc etc. <br><br>It&apos;s super toxic. I had nightmares about getting left behind for YEARS, even after I renounced my faith. I hope thise lil tykes will be okay. 😢

  For the case of Brianna, apparently her husband recently passed away (from cancer I believe) which may be the reason she is so desperate for the Rapture to happen. I hope she gets the help she needs.
