I highly recommend Dr. Cline's books and pretty much every one of his podcast appearances. He is an astoundingly excellent communicator and his love of the subject seems matched only by the depth of his scholarship.

I appreciate the comment at the beginning of the video that you have to take the evidence of multiple sources. So many Youtube videos are more or less "This ONE fact changes everything we believe about . . . " No, one fact changes nothing, whether it's science, history or whatever. New facts are added the the collection of facts we have on a subject.

Sounds like there needs to be a book titled "Before 1177" that explains all the cultures and civilations prior to 1177 and showing what led up to 1177

Love the way Mr Cline owns up to what is best guess and what is pure conjecture.

I always thought Tristan was much older when I listened to the podcast. I’ve been listening to the podcast for years. Here in 2026. This is the first video I’ve seen of them.

The Danites are mentioned in the Sea Peoples and in the Song of Deborah, which would have been written about 10-20 years before the fall of Troy. Dan is mentioned not getting off their ships, and Asher is mentioned as "remaining in their breaches," suggesting that the two tribes were carrying out a naval operation at the time. The term Denyen is the Egyptian for Daniyim, (Danite). Egyptians and Hebrews swap out N and M, as we also find in their dictict names for the Nahorites of Northern Mesopotamia. The Hebrews call them the Aram-Naharim, and the Egyptians call them Mittani-Naharin.

I love the “sea peoples”. The bad guys or victims of the Bronze Age collapse has always fascinated me.
