  My father was almost a victim of the butchers when he was walking along the Antrim road they chased him in their black taxi after the shot fired out the window missed, my dad threw himself down a steep embankment and from that day until his death he developed a terrible stutter. <br><br>The shankil Butchers were condemned by many loyalists and had him set up. Murphy was an unhinged lunatic, what him and his gang were doing was not in the name of any loyalists organisation.

  This brings back memories, &nbsp;i can remember &nbsp;my friend crying outside &nbsp;his house in Alloa &nbsp;street &nbsp;l where is brother &nbsp;Archibald &nbsp;was being waked, he was killed by Noel Shaw AKA noogie, we would &nbsp;play football in Avoca street &nbsp;in the lower oldpark &nbsp;of north &nbsp;belfast and a car would &nbsp;pull up abd call him over, i asked who &nbsp;is that and he would &nbsp;reply my brothers friends &nbsp;who vowed &nbsp;to look after me and that was the shankill &nbsp;butchers !! Im now 63 yrs living &nbsp;in the USA, &nbsp;that was crazy childhood.

  The Butchers shouldn&apos;t really be considered part of the conflict/troubles... Murphy would have done this even without the conflict he was just a psychopathic murderer who hid within the conflict

  Psychopaths really are an alien species living among us. They naturally gravitate toward situations of conflict which allow their impulses to find free expression.

  Never mentiond the romper rooms, the black taxis used to kidnap the victims, how he tried to poison a whole prison wing of his comrades just to get one man... they murderd more than the Yorkshire ripper at around the same time but in a shorter time span..but hardly anyone in England has any idea who he was..

  Before I left home and moved to Belfast for college, someone gave me a book to read. The Shankill Butchers. A horrific account of multiple brutal murders. Needless to say I never really warmed to Belfast despite the rose tinted view that Tourism NI would have you believe.

  Even today walking up the Cliftonville Road on a dark night 🌙 can be be somewhat unnerving as if the terror of yesterday has left an imprint. This was part of what was known as the Murder Mile in Belfast during the 1970s &nbsp;💀🌙

  Good video 👍. &nbsp;He was a scumbag, who liked violence psychopath. &nbsp;The troubles,was ideal for him to continue with his killing. <br>The Police would know what is happening but overlooked let it continue.
