  The White Star from B5 universe were a mix of Minbari and Vorlon technology and mainly a fighting vessel , you are thinking of the Excalibur from the Crusade spinoff which were sent out to find a cure for the Drakh plaque. But Earth Force had their own Explorer class ships, like EAS Cortez, EAS De Soto and EAS Erathostehnes-

  One ship that was missed came from the British TV movie/microseries &quot;Space Odyssey&quot; (marketed in the US as &quot;Voyage to the Planets and Beyond&quot;) and was named &quot;Pegasus.&quot;<br><br>The movie/microseries was done by the same people who brought us &quot;Walking with Dinosaurs&quot; and was, in my opinion, as close being a real documentary as science fiction can be.<br><br>The series was about a grand tour of the Solar System. &nbsp;Venus, Mars, a fly-by of the Sun, the moons of Jupiter and Saturn, a stop on Pluto, and even the exploration of a quiescent comet.<br><br>IMO, it is about the best thing for those who are curious about our understanding of the solar system.

The ship also possessed incredible firepower for an &quot;exploration ship&quot; and it&apos;s unique null gravity field could have safely taken the ship through.
