  The kind of skill that Methode has blooms later than others. She is a jack of all trades whose curiosity led her to learn spells from all sorts of magical trades. She is disciplined, indeed, due to her love for magic that gives her that much hunger to learn of it. Her path is longer, that’s why it blooms late. But once it does, you are in the presence of such an astounding mage. Once who is wise, skilled, versatile and more than anything, warm af. Methode my beloved ❤

  It helps that we only get small doses of her, only appearing in two arcs. She isn't overused and doesn't overstay her welcome. She's there enough for her appearances to feel fresh.

  She's the most similar in magic to Freiren- because she's curious and truly interested in magic itself! She remembered Freiren's interest in even mundane magic and was ready to offer her a grimoire in exchange for a hug 😂

  I also love that she defeated clone Fern off screen. You'd realize that her strength as a mage wasn't highlighted early on. You wouldn't expect a clan devoted to demon hunting to have such a cheerful demeanor towards her fellow mages.

  Frieren just has well written characters all over the place. Especially the women. This is part of why the show is so damn good. These characters feel like real people. Even characters we see for all of 6 mins. Like the Hero of the SOuth. Its just a masterclass in writing all around.

  I think it helps a lot that she doesn't brag or flex with it. She's from a clan of incredible mages, but never mentions it but once, and casually. She is so much more than a mage from an expert clan, and her quirkyness and small weirdness really adds to the layers. Not many mages can make Serie recoil and hide and still be hired.

  The era of human mages is here. Fern isn&apos;t the only prodigy of this age that will leave her mark in history. It seems Methode is even better at her right now due to her having more combat experience and versatility
