I have been all over the world. I’ve been in castles in Germany, Turkey, and several other countries. Every room that a person slept and had a fireplace, and every common space like a living room or a meeting room or a dining room room at fireplaces.

If you can afford a castle you can afford tapestries

I would live in a small turret — with huge fireplaces on 3 walls —and a large, iron grazier in the center, on the floor….I would also cover all walls & floors with tapestries, and seal off windows with leather hides….

Though so many fireplaces were almost never built into one turret…..mine would be!

Castles had fireplaces. They kept warm with fire. They had tapestries on the walls and carpets under foot. The keep is fairly warm.

Small village house is more wormer compared with huge castle. Because they have lower sealing and heat not go to high.
