  The story behind Alonso and Ramos red cards is that it happened in the champion&apos;s league during the group stage. At that time the group stage consisted in a group of 4 teams, each team played 6 matchs and the 2 best of each group advance to the knockout stage. It was during the 5th match, and their team was already qualified for knockout stage, wich start at round of 16. The rule was when a player accumulate 3 yellow cards, he automatically get a 1 match suspension and his yellow card count return to 0. Both already accumulated 2 yellow card, facing a suspension if they take another one. And the yellow card count was reset after the round of 16. As the team was already qualified for the round of 16, the manager would have probably benched them for the last group stage match, but if they took a yellow card in the round of 16 match, wich consist in 2 match, one home and one away, they will be suspended for the 2nd leg of the round of 16 or the 1st leg of the quarterfinals. So during the last moments of that match he asked them to take a yellow card, wich was for both their second of the match, resulting in 2 red cards, so they were suspended for the last match of the group stage, which was irrelevant for the team, and they&apos;re clean for the round of 16. Cherry on the cake, they even could have taken a yellow card at both legs of the round of 16, because the reset before the quarterfinal will put their count to 0 again

  The reason Alonso and Ramos were told to get red cards is because it cleaned their disciplinary records and they were only suspended for the next game (which was meaningless as Real Madrid had already qualified from their group) they would have been one yellow card away from being suspended for a meaningful game in the knockout stage, by getting sent off, they started the knockout phase with a clean slate

  Scoring from beyond midfield is always an INCREDIBLE feeling and achievement. When I played Varsity Girl&apos;s Soccer in high school, I had two goals from over 70 meters, and people didn&apos;t stop talking about them for the rest of my time in school. I did play in college, but martial arts were my primary focus, and I was a champion&apos;s women&apos;s kickboxer until a 10 year prison sentence AND stage 3 heart cancer claimed my 20s (got locked up for a homicide against the man who committed sa and worse throughout my childhood, and when I confronted him, it became a me or him situation). I did play some soccer in prison, but the cancer diagnosis came early on in my bid, and I&apos;ve never been physically capable of intense competition since. <br>Still, I&apos;ll never forget the feeling of when I scored both those goals. I felt DIVINE. I&apos;m sure the pro level players feel the same, because it&apos;s such a rare and difficult achievement, at any level, to score from beyond midfield.

  Have you seen the Scottish fans in Boston during the World Cup? They are having a blast and the city has embraced them. So good to see the two cultures blending together over their love of the beautiful game. The Scots in their &nbsp;Kilts, marching with drums and bagpipes, drinking Irn Bru &amp; beer, &nbsp;singing and laughing. A joy to behold.

  <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cFBybXprqGo&amp;t=695">11:35</a> yes, keepers stay kind of close to their own edge of the box when the ball is away but it&apos;s not only out of confidence it&apos;s also to react to a ball played in behind the defence in case that happens. They risk these halfway line goals but you also gotta keep in mind those are incredibly difficult to score and most players won&apos;t even attempt one even if the keeper is far out because 99% of the time you&apos;re just losing possession you gotta be incredibly accurate to put it on target
