Thank you for being human and making videos that help me.

I feel like you should be able to build a version of this so much cheaper. I have ideas running around in my head.

  • @turbomacncheese · 6 months ago

Good video, thanks. Lots of ideas here.

Great instructional video with graphics and photos. Question: Suggestions for winterizing these raised beds? concerns about frost and the drainage pipes?

Can I use this one as a commercial tomatoes farm?

  • @DavidBump · 2 months ago

If you have access to empty, food-grade IBC totes in your area, you can cut one in half for two beds of reasonable size, likely for less than lumber and liner.  I wouldn’t gamble on whatever was in a non-food grade tote (herbicide, for one).

    What’s mineral soil?

  • @DarDen-1953 · 5 months ago

This creates a water reservoir of approximately 3&quot; that the plants can access. And approximately 6&quot; of water that the plants can not access. <br>As I understand your design, the 4&quot; pipe lays in the grove created by the 6&quot; pipe and the peatmoss then lays in the grove created by the 4&quot; pipe, which is literally 100% on top of the 6&quot; pipe. &nbsp; The peatmoss is unable to toutch/access any of the water in the 6&quot; pipe, so the plants lose access to that volume of water, aka: dead weight.

I have a dumb question, doesnt the peat moss clog the perforated black tubes?

  • @kennypridemore5466 · 11 months ago

Great effort, 4 inch perforated drain pipe give you your water depth, &nbsp;and why not cover the tops of the pipe with a type of cloth or something similar to allow water to still wick up into the soil , yet not allow soil into your pipes ? And why not have the over flow tube connected to all the other beds and just have one over flow outlet at the end, that way when you fill one or add water, then you automatically fill the others in the process have only one fill tube that fills all the beds , that&apos;s if time saving is what we are looking for

Do these mold or mildew? &nbsp;I&apos;m debating on using this method or terracota pots (oyas).
