For those who don't know, the strange jump he did at the end is a glitch you can do in Mario 64 that allows you to move super fast and if done correctly let you skip most of the game and go directly to the end boss, is a strategy done by speed runners to end the game very quickly

7:45 "The Romans did better than most when it came to understanding some of the basic concepts involved in sanitation...like...having...sanitation." Lol I know this wasn't intentional but it cracked me up.

If a witch ever throws me back in time to the Roman Empire I think I'll just skip the risks of living in the city and go wander off into the wilderness to try and become the world's worst stone tool using woodsman

I wouldn't be terribly good at surviving any era without electrical energy. Life has changed a LOT in the last 100 years.

5:55 which makes complete sense. As we know, most gladiators didn't die, and we're the athletes of their day. What do athletes get today? Off-seasons!

The crisis of the third century is such a underestimated time period.
Dovahhatty has a fantastic video on it, if you don't mind some dark humor.

Regarding emperors being gods, there's a common misconception. The Romans had two different words that are both translated to 'god'. One was 'deus', the other was 'divus', and are the roots of words 'deific' and 'divine' respectively. 'Deus' reffered to gods like Jupiter, Mars or Minerva, gods by nature. No emperor claimed to ba a 'deus'. They called themselves 'divus', which did not imply a godly nature, only a veneration and religious cult. So while Divine Augustus and other emperors had temples and were venerated by the imperial cult, they did not claim to be beings of similar nature to actual gods.

I've read that for routine cleaning, Romans would scrub themselves down with olive oil and then scrape the oil and dirt off with the strigil.
