This Head Racquet Has No Right Being This Good [Head Squared 100 Review]

Didn't expect to like this one as much as I did and the fact my dad noticed the same flaw I did says a lot. Would you rather a racquet that's easy to swing, or one with more stability that's a bit heavier?

I used the Prestige Classic 2.0, moved on to Extreme Tour (Aux 1.0) but had to try the Squared, and it's a fun racquet to play with. I find it's most effective when you swing maybe 60%.<br><br>But such a surprisingly good racquet. The stability (minus at the net against big hitters), the spin and power ... To have all 3, it's super weird but cool. And no tennis elbow yet either

Head is at it AGAIN, mislabeling it(I believe on PURPOSE) so they can sell more to "beginner players" as a 100sq inch frame... But not only eyeing it up, but also doing the math, its 98.91 sq inches, so yes, its a 98! haha And I'm a high level player just getting off of TE/Radial Tunnel crap, and put some more shock protection in handle, got it super head light, yet weighing in at 11.8oz and this racket is a HIGH LEVEL DREAM for any high level player! Warning, it's soo maneuverable "volleys" didn't work right away. Why? I was moving soo fast I was hitting the 6 o'clock part of the frame! haha I made adjustments to slow down my normal reflex, and it volleys great! And finally, I'm hitting with same power as I was with my PA98, but more bounding scary spin when I need it, because of the crazy string pattern! And, yes, that HEAVY DEEP TOPSPIN, bothers EVERYBODY! haha

At 56 years old, got back into tennis last summer after many years with a Wilson Clash because of tennis elbow. Sold that in the winter because I couldn't get a good connected feel and bought the Head Squared when it was released -- it's a very good racquet. I also found it did buckle a little, (likely my bad technique) and grabbed the Yonex Muse as a second racquet. Going back and forth between them now, similar in many ways and love both of them

Just hit with it. Usually I play with Gravity Pro with 15g weight added. This thing is 295g but so stable, comfortable, control. I probably don’t hit as heavy but I’m amazed by this racquet.

My wife has been using the Squared since it came out. Before that she used a 260g 102 inch Ezone. Her tennis has gone like really up. She goes into rallies confidently, all her higher balls come down exactly like just in. Its like a kind of cheat code. She had back pains before that, now they're gone. Anyway, I tried it, really liked it and probably could use it too. Maybe with some weight at 9, 12 and 3 and a leather grip. But of course, I'm not allowed to tinker with my wife's Squared...

I spent two years playing with all kinds of different rackets. Now I play with the Head Squared and have stopped switching rackets. I’m not a beginner, but I love this racket. It’s easy to swing, offers the best one-handed backhand I’ve ever played with, and best of all, I have absolutely no arm or shoulder problems anymore.

I am considering this or Muse 98 for a wrist injury recovery; I usually play using an old Yonex RDS001 MP. Any thoughts/comparison?

Cade, just curious about modifying it; you mention its a bit light, so if necessary, could it be modified up in weight to be what a more advanced player (like ytou) would like, without necessarily having issues like maybe twist weight being too low, or some other deficiency? In other words, does this make a good platform to begin with due to being inherently solid (just light), or would you use a different frame?

Love this also, just ordered a second one. Much lighter than I'm use to, so I added a total of 3 strips of stacked 1/4" by 4" lead tape at 3 and 9 for a total of 12 strips. It now weighs 11.7 oz. with over grip and dampener, but is still 10 pts. head light and swings super easy. I started with Head Velocity at 54 lbs. but the strings got stuck out of place too often. I am now using Restring Slap at 46 lbs. and problem solved. I'm a 3.5 senior and the biggest thing I noticed right away was the comfort, plush feel and no arm pain after playing. You need to take a full swing, which is a good thing for technique, and you can do it with confidence. Give it a try.

I am a 4.0 aggressive doubles player and this was so easy to play with. You can get so many balls in play as it is super forgiving and maneuverable. <br>My one knock, which is why I won’t use it is that my weight of shot did not bother opponents at all. Just tough to produce a heavy ball. <br>At 3.0 where fewest unforced errors wins matches this is a gem. Playing 4.0 I feel that forcing opponents to make mistakes is key and this didn’t give me that.

It will be interesting to see if Head expands this racquet silo to include more models and/or if it uses the dual tube technology in its other racquet lines. As for myself, I have a 1-handed backhand and need a racquet that is more evenly balanced. Years ago, I played with a very headlight racquet and it led to injury because I had to work too hard to generate power and spin.
