  I’ve been playing guitar for 60 years started when I was five and I still play it every day just by myself no one around except possibly my wife or my son but I do it because it makes me feel good inside and that’s all there is to anybody listening great if you’re not, that’s great too. I do it for me.

  Learning to loop well is the single best thing a guitarist can do to improve thier timing and playing in general, outside of actually gigging. Looping while gigging will supercharge your progress, but beware:<br><br>Looping is HARD.<br><br>I&apos;ve been doing it for 8 years now, and while my profciency has grown immensely, it&apos;s always a high-wire act. Tommy Emmanuel, one of the greatest acoustic players of all times says the same thing. &quot;You never know what&apos;s going to happen&quot; playing live with a looper. A looper won&apos;t cover for you the way a good band will when you make a mistake. It doesn&apos;t care about your feelings. It just plays back exactly what you play into it. If you are going to perform, get a looper with a dedicated &quot;STOP&quot; botton, or you&apos;ll be in double tap hell trying to stop the thing on the beat.<br><br>The need for precise timing and its absolute sonic fidelity are it&apos;s greatest strengths as a teaching tool, and it&apos;s most dangerous flaws as an accompaniest when gigging. <br><br>You&apos;ve been warned. ;-)

  I&apos;ve always found looper pedals to be complicated - thank you for your simplified lesson. &nbsp;It was genius of you to use 2, 3, 4 chord songs for demo. &nbsp;Thanks!

  New subscriber. This is easily the best Looper lesson I’ve seen. &nbsp;A horse with no name is a great starting point. I speak a someone who has struggled with this. Thanks.

  Frank, I love that your channel is here to “get us gig ready”. &nbsp;Currently my idea of a gig is playing with friends and family. For example, this Summer I plan to play again at my cousin’s annual family bash. We usually have drums, bass, keys and my brother in law playing rhythm &nbsp;guitar and singing. He is the only one truly gig ready. Your video turned on a light bulb for me. I can use my looper to practice the guitar fills and layers that I try to add songs in the set list. Such a simple idea but I never thought about it. I was just occasionally using the looper as a something to improv to. Thanks again and keep the content coming✌️
