  I am excited as an owner of a 6.5 creedmoor and a .308 to get some plus peak cartridges to make these rifles even better than what I shoot right now.

  To the point of modern enough cartridges, a quick browse of what cartridges Federal makes (I figured it&apos;d be a good sign of what we might see next) reminded me that 338 Federal exists.<br><br>That cartridge never got the love it deserves, and was essentially killed off by the arrival of 8.6 Blackout, but if it was given the +PEAK treatment then it goes from fighting a losing battle with 8.6BO and instead faces off against 338 Win Mag and 338 RPM.

  And here I just got a new 6.5 Creedmoor Glenfield Model A that I found out happened to fit my Ruger American Gen 2 stock (that was set up for youth) because I wanted my son to be able to hunt without the recoil of the .308. Looks like I got onto the scene just in time.

  I’m sooo ready for this! Lee has collaborated with Federal to make the dies to reload the +Peak cases and their site says the dies will be available in EARLY SUMMER 2026 which is right about now!

  I have been shooting high pressure 308 ammo from BlackArc Munitions with the NAS3 cases for months now. &nbsp;I shoot it in my bolt action and AR10 and have seen no issues so far. &nbsp;The military has been testing high pressure ammo, up to 100k psi, in existing M4 rifles and I haven&apos;t heard of any issues there. &nbsp;If the case is designed to hold the pressure, the rifle will be ok. &nbsp;I agree with Ron, probably any action that was designed after the 270 came out in 1925 will probably be able to handle 80k psi ammo.

  Everyone says the 6.5 PRC is dead because of this technology on the 6.5 CM. Here’s what I think, the PRC came out after the Creed; thus, if the argument that the CM actions are modern and capable of taking the pressure, then so are PRC actions. Now, a screaming 130-140 grain bullet out of a PRC would not be so popular as it would have the same issues as the 264 Win Mag; however if more 150ish grain bullets come out, then the PRC could be stepping into 7 SAUM, 280 AI or 7 REM Mag. Everyone gets an upgrade 😊
