  Snyder's book Bloodlands has so much history in it it overwhelmed me and left me feeling very depressed  like when someone close to you just died.

  It’s interesting how you hear people say the war “we’re” having in Ukraine - because “we’re” ALL beginning to realize how connected we truly are.<br>Those lines on a map are completely irrelevant to Earth.

  Serving as I did during the cold war as part of the British Army Of The Rhine one of the war scenarios frequently played out in military exercises in the filed and in the war rooms was the Soviets preparing to invade westwards having no other option to combatting the Soviet starvation cause by the failure of crops in Ukraine.

  It means that anything relying on big infrastructure- like oil, coal etc, is finished. All that is needed is one opposition capable of gluing together kajak bombs. All it takes now, is one or two attacks of this kind, and a shareholder run from the industry.
