Sometimes we need someone who can speak some obvious things outloud. No jokes. Thank you.

A significant part is learning study techniques that work for the individual.

I’m about to start another degree in engineering at 40. I related to this and I appreciate the video!

It's crazy that this video popped up on the same day I decided to re-enroll in physics at 30. Just.. thank you. Wish me luck.

Looking at it from another perspective, a pressure point is not a place where someone is "not smart enough." It is a place where the sequence of questions has been broken. People are asked to understand a new concept before they understand the problems from which that concept naturally emerges. A clear sign of this is that they struggle not so much with the definition itself, but with the problems in which the concept is used. If those problems feel artificial or incomprehensible, the definition inevitably comes across as just a collection of words. Once the underlying problem becomes clear, however, the definition starts to feel like the natural answer to a question that was already there.

the academic system doesn't make it easy, either. if there were more alternative, affordable methods and nontraditional schools to learn the math, i think we'd all be doing better.

also i think a lot of us make our way unassisted. we do a straight path from high school to college and then we struggle. whereas our "smarter" peers are used to private tutors, cram school, and other pressures that allow them to prelearn the material before they even sign up for the class. meanwhile the rest of us start on a clean slate, which is bad because we're already technically so behind compared to our "smarter peers."

I comment after listening to you after 7 minutes. I historically was told I was not "mathematically inclined" But... I am curious about building a 3-D model of the cell. I see an image in my mind about how a mitochondria cell works and what geometry needs to build it. It's okay I don't understand the math. It works as long as I see it in my imagination so then I learn the math I specifically need to make it work. But I already had this information before listening to this channel. That channel exists for the benefits of its creators and has a monetary benefit for them.
