  I was a Macintosh kid back in the 80s and 90s, so my ability to play computer games was VERY limited. Ambrosia Software was one of my lifelines. I played basically every game they ever made, but EV was one of my favorites.

  I didn't know what I was expecting when I clicked on this video--maybe a reference to shareware slop like Nemesis, even?--but when it immediately delved into EV I knew I was home. EV, Override, and to a lesser extent Nova have a warm place in my heart, filling that space over thousands of hours when I was a kid. Heck, it was only when I was an adult that I actually picked up on all the MST3K references that I thought were EV's own! Thanks for this, great work with the build!

  This series had a big impact on my childhood. It’s great to see one of the ships brought into the physical world.

  Escape velocity series is so beloved that people made entire freeware game that pretty much looks and plays like a somewhat expanded clone of that game.... Endless Sky

  Me, just scrolling: Why is there a Voinian Frigate on my timeline?<br><br>&quot;I think I took a wrong turn at Palshife...&quot;<br><br>I owe these games everything. I started learning Strata and Bryce 3D when I was 5 because I wanted to make my own ships and landing picts. I never stopped 3D modeling, Blender got me in my career.<br>I probably have several thousand hours in EVN, and still replay it every couple years once I found out it can run on a modern system.

  God I loved this games so much, getting a Kestrel for the first time, fighting the Voinian dreadnaught, getting the yellow and orange not-kestrel and exploring the northern edge of the override map, these are great memories
