Cut off the high voltage windings side of the microwave transformer,take on big wire /cable (50mm2), Wind it 2 o3 trough the the micro wave transformer,and volia a simple v low voltage high amp transformer.<br>Mine does 2 volt and over 100 Amps ;)

Ok urs looks legit. So many look super weak. Or just runs off battery no capacitors. Id just get switch that can do as low as 10ms but surprised wasnt too strong. I want to try and use .2mm nickle strips or even double .15 I guess. For high discharge 21700 packs on big drones

You would get better results if you used welding electrodes made from CuCrZr alloy and not pure copper.

Everything is so reliable and good and acceptable except the relay. Did you just use a $100 relay to build the welder? I guess good ready to use spot welders are available at this price!

If you build a spot welder, one of the most common reasons is the cost. Diy builds are always cheaper, except this one. I don't think this idea is anyway cheaper than a standard full fledged spot welder.
