  Forgot to add the fact that in the middle of the 2024-2025 season the Leafs offered him 8x13.5 mill (just abit more than Matthews btw) and he still said no

  Marner was brilliant and frustrating at the same time. The breakup was probably best for both sides, but the personal abuse was never okay.

  Marner should've been a life long leaf, his dad and Ferris did their best job gassing up his ego, when you are paid as much as the one of the best goal scorers in the league the expectations will be high.  His first contract after the ELC should've landed in between Matthews and Nylander, if he was paid 1.5 to 2 mill less than Matthews a lot of heat would be off of him.

  You actually got this the other way around Marner used the city of Toronto as a scapegoat for his problems. Toronto never had a problem with Marner, marners thin skin for not being able to take a lick of criticism is his problem.

  I feel Mitch’s dad ruined his son’s reputation in Toronto…who here has heard anything good about Paul marner ? Mitch just wanted to play hockey his contract was too big for him that’s why he couldn’t handle the criticism…no other ex leaf players share his “mistreatment” from the club or the fans” Sundin left Toronto high and dry during his last year and went to Vancouver yet the fans still love the guy…Mitch and his team made his bed…his dad picked Vegas for him…I just hope his dad doesn’t take his sons money at the end
