This woman is INCREDIBLE. She knew exactly why that fabric box was so hard for her and was able to talk it out and let the fabric go. That was amazing to watch. ❤️

I'm a BEE. And I'm a planner who often never gets passed the planning, because it has to be perfect.

This one hit close to home, and heart; much more so than most episodes.
I have been sorting (excavating) through, rehoming, and discarding two homes full of our own possessions, plus what is still loitering about unused/unneeded from my parent's and my inlaws' treasures.
I have had to face the cold, hard truth that at the age of 66, and living with a plethora of lupus initiated autoimmune afflictions (they are Legion for they are many), many to perhaps most of the wonderful craft and art supplies and kits I purchased over the last many years that still scream for my attention will never be completed by me.
I only have so much time left, and that time will continue to be dominated by a body that no longer plays fair.
Many of the items which remain languishing unused must go to someone who wants/needs them. That is my redemption. Rehoming years of "treasures" is not simply saying goodbye to the stuff, it is letting go of dreams and aspirations, and the memories that revolve around the acquisition of that stuff.
Letting go is liberating and cathartic. Letting go is also frequently painful. Often surprisingly painful. There are demons lurking in the piles of wanna do's. They try to stifle my life by making me feel like a failure because I did not fulfill every one of the grand plans I have been dusting and tripping over for years. Those demons do not relinquish their hold without a struggle, but casting out demons brings a joy and freedom that far exceeds the temporary pain of letting go of too much stuff!

This is me!!! Thank you Cas and the whole Clutterbug team! This was more than a space transformation, it is an identity transformation. I’ve already created some items for clients and it was so easy to find what I needed and then actually put it away! ❤😊

Omg the way I would binge an organizing series specifically for craft rooms so fast 😭 the adhd craft room struggle is real

I had an organizer come out and help me with my house and when she got to my craft room I had like a panic attack and couldn't let her help. So much emotion in these spaces!

Cas, I love how you encouraged her that she was not a failure! If you sew, you don’t have to sew everything. I love how you were so sensitive to the emotional side of crafting & crafting supplies! The flower decals were the perfect addition to the decor. Yay! Job well done!

Oh my gosh a woman like this made our families masks for us in 2020 when the pandemic hit. All the regular mask were sold out at the store and they were scalping them for hundreds of dollars a box. And this sweet little woman who had fabric in her house made our family masks so we could function in society. I’m so grateful to her and this woman is just like her I’m sure. That part of the of this makeover was the hardest to watch too for me because it made me think about that time and how desperate some of us were because of where we lived.

WoW! 😢 I just watched this video and felt profoundly seen. I’m also a Bee, and for the first time in a while, I realized how deeply my physical clutter is tied to my identity—and especially to identities I’ve lost or can’t fully live anymore.

I used to be a primary school teacher, and my home office was my place of creativity, purpose, and creation. During the pandemic it also was the place of connection with my students while they learn how to use a computer and read at the same time. Later, when I had to stop working due to health issues, that same space became where I studied and tried to hold onto some version of productivity and self-worth. But eventually, it became a space I dread and avoided—filled with unfinished projects, tools from past roles, and too many “maybe one day” piles. I couldn't see the floor and had to go around the items to open the window.

I also have ADHD and Asperger’s, and I now see that I wasn’t just holding onto stuff—I was holding onto meaning, structure, and versions of myself that I didn’t know how to let go of.

Watching this helped me see the physical clutter as a mask for the mental load. A way of preserving options that deep down I knew I wasn’t going to use, but couldn’t let go of without grieving.

Now I’m learning to declutter with intention—not just things, but thoughts and expectations too. I'm asking myself: what do I really want to keep, and what life do I want to build moving forward?

Thank you, Cas. Your work doesn’t just organize spaces—it helps organize us. ❤
