  Reminds me of high school when the AAA teams came to play our poor little single A team. One year we lost 73-0 and their third team scored 42 points.

  Ah, yes!  The time Minnesota decided to try the "Leeeee-royyyyyy Jenkins!" defense with an all-out blitz every play.  It either stopped the offense cold or got scorched for a big play.  Hence the 84 points given up (plus the fact that this was the second best offense in Husker history, surpassed only by the 1995 team's offense).

  I just love this team, and always will!!! &nbsp; &nbsp; Nebraska actually had a Justyn Ross (current Clemson star WR) at wide receiver in Irving Fryar. &nbsp; When has Nebraska EVER had a WR that good before? &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Fryar was sensational!!! &nbsp;(Johnny Rodgers from &apos;72 could make this category.) &nbsp; &nbsp; And Mike Rozier and Turner Gill had all the swag in the world, along with FS Bret Clark and DB Neil Harris. &nbsp; &nbsp;And backup QB Nate Mason is (along with Ohio State&apos;s Kenny Guiton) the best backup QB I have ever witnessed. &nbsp; In one play against Penn State, Mason muffs the ball off an option keeper only to swoop that ball off the ground and never lose stride in the process of about a 6 yard keeper.<br><br>I&apos;ve said it before, and I&apos;ll say it again. &nbsp; Had Nate Mason had one more year of eligibility, then Nebraska beats out BYU for the Natty in &apos;84.<br><br>Of all of Nebraska&apos;s greatest recent teams including the five Natty winners along with 2012, this the 1983 team is by far and away the greatest NU team I have ever witnessed!

  Smokey Joe Salem&apos;s last year as the Gophers coach before Lou Holtz took the reigns for <b>almost</b> two seasons. The &apos;83 Gophers also lost to: Ohio State 69-18; Wisconsin 56-17; Illinois 50-27; Michigan 58-10; and Iowa 61-10.
