  I’m not gonna lie, I got teary eyed when Pike and Future Uhura had their conversation in his quarters. Ms Gooding absolutely knocked it outta the park. Nyota and Scotty works, it just does, I’m glad they brought them together…again. 🖖

  I’m glad to see a channel that just doesn’t trash new Trek nonstop. I’ve watched every show and every movie, and this series is one my favorites.

  I know that Celia Rose Gooding didn&apos;t get to meet Nichelle Nichols before she passed, and that was something they&apos;ve commented on before. In interviews, they&apos;ve mentioned that they feel her presence when performing as Uhura.<br><br>Knowing that, the scene with the two Uhuras on the bridge hit me in such a bittersweet way. &quot;Kid, you&apos;re doing great and are going to do great.&quot; That genuinely <b>felt</b> like a message from Nichols to Gooding from beyond the grave. <br><br>That&apos;s a testament to both the writing and Gooding&apos;s performance, and was such a lovely tribute. And for Strange New Worlds to begin and end with such an important character as Uhura sits right with me. As much as I love Kirk and Spock and McCoy, Uhura was a tour de force in skill, excellence, and diversity and a character I greatly looked up to growing up. A proper finale for this Enterprise would have been good with the others... but it&apos;s great with Uhura.

  This was also a 10/10 for me and it has nothing to do with the TAS easter eggs or that stuff. It has heart and Star Trek, hell, scifi in general, really isn&apos;t much without that. Over these seasons, one thing we&apos;ve learned is why Spock was willing to throw away his career, and potentially even his life, for Pike. And the conversation with Pike and Uhura speaks to that too. Pike brought out the best in this group of people and they allowed him to grow into someone who was bigger than his death.<br><br>Was the time travel a little hard to follow and slightly silly? Sure. A lot of time travel is. But sometimes it also breaks your heart.

  The conversation between future-Uhura and Pike was just… stellar. But the thing that really got me was the small details around Pike recognizing that his tragedy was coming soon. The little pause after &quot;is it because I called you admiral&quot; after we know Pike explicitly chose to stay a captain at the start of the season, followed quickly by Pike explicitly voicing &quot;it was an honor my friend&quot; when he knows he won&apos;t be able to later? Masterful execution on all sides there.

  Her acting was AMAZING this episode, effortlessly slipping between this Uhura and the confident 1969 Nichols version, and her portrayal of affection for Scotty. I WISH we were going from season 5 into this version immediately, maybe even remaking the original, or having episodes that fit like a zipper into the original series simultaneously. I get that a lot of people didn&apos;t like this season, but I thought it was fun and wish we had that idea to look forward to.
