Just started learning Spanish about 2 months ago, and I study every day. Made a new tiktok account and only consume spanish content on it. I listen to music in spanish and watch tv and movies in spanish. As well as meet 5 times a week on Preply to speak with tutors. I feel in just 2 months turning this hobby into a habit and being a consistent consumer of spanish. I have been able to understand so much in such a short time. They key is never to make the excuse of time. MAKE TIME, ENJOY THE JOURNEY, NEVER STOP LEARNING. Once you become obsessed with it, staying consistent becomes easy. Best of luck to everyone on their spanish learning journeys!

Nate, you’re a bad ass. I’m Mexican-American from L.A. First generation, my parents are from Mexico. But I grew up a No Sabo kid. Today I’m 43 years old and my Spanish is much better than when I was a kid. It’s about B2. But I still make a lot of little mistakes. You are a bad ass and inspire me.

The best motivation was meeting a girl in Mexico that was into me. It pumped up my Spanish ego that I was actually able to meet and talk to a native speaker. She doesn’t speak any English so I’ve been working so hard in becoming fluent.

the more I listen, the more I understand. at first it used to hurt my brain after a few minutes to listen to a spanish podcast. Now it still hurts my brain, just that happens later because I understnad more!

Yes. The simplest way is immersion. Getting thrown into your cousins' home in Latin America for several weeks does wonders. Schooling can only do so much for rapid fire talking skills

I've tried to speak Spanish to my family but a lot of times I got teased for saying something the wrong way or with too much of an accent so I've not had much encouragement from my family so I stopped trying for a long time. I was what is called a sobo kid growing up and grew up with my dad's side of the family more than my mom's (they were divorced) and even though my grandparents and my dad spoke Spanish fluently, they mostly spoke English to me and never encouraged me to speak Spanish. Whenever i did try to speak Spanish to them, they would criticize me and not constructively. All my cousins, aunts, uncles, and my mom all speak Spanish fluently and I want to learn, however, because of my experience with my dad's side of the family, I am nervous to even try speaking Spanish. I am trying to speak Spanish with my mom more, and so far, I haven't had any bad experience trying to talk to her in Spanish.

For grammar, I highly recommend doing it in cycles. For the first pass get the most basic grammar you can find - 120 pages at most. You can work through this in a few weeks and automate the fundamentals - the 10% that covers 90% of what you want to say. Once you reach the intermediate level, you can dive into more detailed patterns and learn all the exceptions. But not first time around - it's too overwhelming.

Never had an issue rolling my R’s but this is hands-down the easier explanation I’ve ever heard on how to do it.

Dude I did not know the Spanish verb contextualization system was this good before you explained it in this video. The consistency between the "ar", "er", and "ir" verb endings is so well done for spanish.

I'm currently a 15 yo polyglot who speaks 4 languages. I'm learning my fifth which is Spanish. And since I already speak French and Arabic this feels oddly easy!!
